‘Volunteers needed to visit and befriend children in care’, We need men and women volunteers, independent visitors, to befriend and visit children in care.What is an independent visitor?A volunteer who visits, befriends and advises children in care who are looked after by Surrey County Council and live in foster care or residential homes.Who needs an independent visitor?Children and young people usually aged between 10 and 17 who do not have regular contact with a family member or where they would benefit from a regular visitor.
